Google has released an app to receive your documents no longer as attachments, but directly into Google Docs. GoFileDrop, the name of the new app, is offers a free trial all users each allocated 50MB of free data usage.

With this app you can let people securely “drop” files into your Google Docs account. It functions kind of like a virtual mail slot because the sender has no access to your account on Google. The files are only accessible to the owner.

When files are “dropped” in your Google Docs account via GoFileDrop you will receive an email which allows you to directly open the file in your Google Docs account. Google Docs is the premier Application for managing and sharing the files you work with every day – now it’s easy to use Google Docs as your personal FileDrop Application.
