As a Realtor, if you know how to leverage these sites, they have the ability to drive large amounts of traffic to your site.

There are several things you need to do to get the most out of social bookmarking sites.  First and foremost, you need to post REALLY good content.  People are always on the lookout for new data that pertains to them.  Find and post original content, hot topics, new ideas, etc. in order for your site to get the most exposure from these sites.

Use your headline to grab a user’s attention.  Make it pop – but be honest.

Make your description count.  Remain on topic and to the point.  You don’t have to write a thesis.  Remember these sites are geared for those who are in a hurry.

Be sure your site is ready for a lot of traffic.  The last thing you want is to drive traffic to your site when it is not prepared to handle the flow and have the site crash.

Just as important as site stability is site content.  If you drive traffic to your site and your content stinks, then your bounce rate will be high and your conversion rate will be low.  That’s a bad combination!

Keep social bookmarking sites on your priority list and be persistent in your efforts.  Those efforts will definitely payoff for you.  Add this tool to your 2012 marketing plan and you’ll start to reap the benefits of your hard work before you know it.
